Problem: Win2000 - Unable to connect to server name

I am running samba 2.0.7 on Redhat 7. The problem is this:

The servername appears in our local NT domain (DEV), but is not accessible
directly (error: \\sourcectrl-dell is not accessible. The account is not
authorized to log in from this station).

However, if you attempt to connect to the name.domain, it works fine (e.g.
\\sourcectrl-dell.dev).

It's more of a hassle than anything else, but it does cause problems.
