Fw: Help

Hi all,
  When a user is trying to create a new folder or file on a linux machine from a windows 2000 machine,he gets an error message,"ACCESS is DENIED",but he can still access the files in the folder,ie read them and save them to the local desktop.What might be the problem.I have checked up the permissions on the folder in the linux system and they are fine ie read write and execute for the user.Please help.
