First time you asked for 16 characters. This is not an option.

There is no need to change anything for 15 characters.

Come on. Try to type 16 characters into the workgroup configuration of 
your windows box. No go.

The 16th character in netbios names is used to specify the type or 
function of this name. That's just the way the protocol is defined.

What are you going to do with a requirement not beeing fulfilled?
