NT SMB Support parameter questions

I have an active virus scanner on the workstation, yes (F-Secure AV).
However, the test documents I was using are certainly not virus
infected, and the scanner hasn't caused problems before. 

I've been using Samba here for some time, and this problem started to
appear about 3 weeks ago, which coincides (I think) with when I changed
the nt smb support parameter to "No". It took a while for users to
report this to me, which is why I'm not 100% sure about the timing. It
*seems* to be OK now - I'll be monitoring this over the next few days,
and hoping that
it's gone for good.
