Pb of auth

Hi,
I am installing samba 2.0.6.
When I try to loggin to the samba server using in Start/Execute :
\\IP_OF_SMB_SERVER I get :

"Please enter the passwd to access\\IP_OF_SMB_SERVER\$IPC"

Enven when I am logged in Windows 98 with the good l/p I get this error.
Look at log.nebios_name

[2000/03/29 10:29:07, 1] smbd/reply.c:reply_sesssetup_and_X(909)
  Rejecting user 'creverd': authentication failed

And when I try to encrypt passwd I get :

[root at vicky /root]# testparm
Load smb config files from /etc/smb.conf
Unknown parameter encountered: "encrypted password"
Ignoring unknown parameter "encrypted password"
