Reporting free space -- quota free vs disk free; LOCAL ONLY, no NFS

This is working only for local file systems, not for nfs mounted fs.
Is this an intended behaviour or can I change this?

In a Compaq Tru64Unix Cluster environment all file systems are nfs
mounted, so this is a problem.
