samba shutting down sometimes

Hello, sometimes when i try to get on my linux server from windows i cannot see the Linux server in the network browser thing, and sometimes i can see it in there.  But if I do a search for the server then it pop rights up.  Can you tell me what makes it not show up there sometimes?
