samba 2.06 on slackware 7.

Hello,
	Has anyone installed from source samba 2.06 on a slackware 7.0 system,
after removing the previous slackware 2.05 package? What changes to
configuration files did you have to make? My first problem is the
original man pages were not all removed, so I had to manually remove
them, secondly, smbd and nmbd and swat are not loading. Help appreciated.
