Write permissions

Hi.

I just downloaded and installed SAMBA.  I have the following settings for
SAMBA:

username	joe, mike
valid users	joe, mike
write list	joe, mike
read only	no

If I leave the list like this, neither joe or mike can write to the
directory.  If I had this entry:

admin list	joe, mike

Then joe and mike can write to the directory.  Isn't this wrong?  Or am I
missing a setting somewhere?  Thanks.
