Installing SAMBA - Please Help!!

Hello,

SORRY IF YOU HAVE ALREADY HAD THIS, BUT I A NOT SURE WHETHER THE LAST POST
WORKED...

I am trying to install Samba and have started going through the DIAGNOSE.TXT
file..
However, I am can not get past step 3, but am getting some really wierd
stuff, so I don't know whether it is some sort of bug, or it is me doing
something wrong....


I downloaded the latest, samba-2.0.6 from the web site, then did:
./configure
make
make install


I have a basic config as follows:
[global]
        workgroup = IC
        dns proxy = no


[homes]
        comment = Home Directory
        guest ok = no
        read only = no


[public]
        comment = Public Directory
        path = /home/public
        writable = yes


[tmp]
        comment = Temporary Files
        path = /tmp
        read only = no


And have started using:
smbd -D and nmbd -D


Now, when I do:
smbclient -L IClinuxServer


I get:
added interface ip=192.168.0.2 bcast=192.168.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Password: (I ENTER MY PASSWORD (for root) HERE)
session setup failed: code 0


I have tried under different users...


When I look in the log.smb file, I get the following (THIS IS THE WIERD
