Cannot login from win 98 machines

I seem to ba having some difficulty with my SMB server and Win 98. When I try to login from a win 98 station, it first of all does not ask for a user name. It only asks for the password. It says resource file://www/isl$. I assumed it was sending the user name that I logged into the system with, but came back with an incorrect Password error. Any thoughts?
