input/output error

Here is the thing:
 i have one pc with windows nt server and i want to see one of the share
 drives from a linux box.I can do it fine with smbclient.But when i trie to 
 use smbmount it looks like it is mounting the share drive but when i do 
 a 'ls' in the local directory i get a "input/output error".What can be wrong?
