Unhelpful as it is, I can only say I have the same problem.
Unfortunately I had too much else going on the investigate yet, and
also just reverted to 2.05a. I'm running Digital (Compaq) UNIX 4.0F. I
wasn't sure if it might also be related to the new OS release, since
Samba 2.0.5a was compiled and running on 4.0D.
