Hi,

Whe have the same errors.

Im also running an accounting package (Legal Aid, a laywer
application, I think Clipper
with Dbase files)and I'm running into the same issues with file
locking.
Legal Aid will crash and the index files are corrupted.
Whe are running RH6.1 with Samba 2.0.5a, shipped with RH.

In /var/log/samba/log.smb:
[2000/02/16 15:38:23, 1] smbd/files.c:file_init(216)
  file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1014 are
available.

In /etc/smb.conf  :

 [DATA]
       path = /usr1/DATA
       read only = no
       public = yes
       fake oplocks = yes
       locking = no
       create mode = 0666

Removing 'fake oplocks' and LegalAid won't work at all. Locking is
yes/no makes
no difference.

I was thinking to use Samba 2.0.6, but I see that the problem stil
exist.

Also any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
Ger van Bree
