I had this error too. This is a known error. Try to search the
mailinglistarchive for the necessary patches. Search for "root did not
create the semaphore". If you find nothing, i can send you also a
patched version. Or you can try the samba-2.0.7-pre snapshot. The patch
should be integrated in this version.
