Restarting SAMBA and losing the WINS database

I have a samba server that acts as a WINS server.  It works great!!  What happens is that when I restart the samba server it loses all of the nmb information about all clients that have registered with it.  Is there a way to preserve this data? Is there a way to restart a samba server and NOT lose all of the WINS information stored by samba?

Any help/pointers you can give would be very helpful.
