Hey,

I am running win2k pro with SP1 and samba 2.0.7 on a turbolinux box without
issue for users with local unix accounts.
here's my /etc/smb.conf

#==============================Global===============================
[global]
                netbios name = bo208b
                   workgroup = MCKENNA
               server string = RedHat Linux Box
                 announce as = Win95
                  browseable = yes
                  interfaces = 134.173.161.221/255.255.255.0
               domain master = no
                local master = no
                 wins server = 134.173.104.60
               guest account = nobody
                    security = user
           encrypt passwords = yes

                 debug level = 3
                    log file = /usr/local/samba/logs/log.%m

#==============================Local================================
[dman]
        path = /home/dman
        comment = private
        read only = no
        browseable = yes
        valid users = dman

[public]
        path = /mnt/music/mp3
        comment = public
        read only = yes
        guest ok = yes
        guest only = yes
        browseable = yes
        max connections = 100

My only issue is that I cannot get the public share to be accessable from
win9x clients. It keeps asking a password to view even the top-level
(\\machine_name\) share. Any ideas?

Thanks,
~dan
