xiaodong,
smbmount runs from within the regular mount command. to mount a win2k share
you should do something similar to this:
mount -t smbfs -o username=*username*,password=*password*
//win2k_server/share /mount/share

hope this helps,

Subject: Help: share a drive in Windows 2000 Sever from a linux box

Greetings,

I'm trying to share a drive in win2k server from a
linux box. Which package shall I use, the Samba or the
smbfs. It is a kind of confusing, coz they all support
submount command. When I typed

smbmount //win2k_Server/c /mnt/c -U username -P
password

I got the Error message from the Linux

invalid option --U

I'm runing

kenel 2.2.14-5.0
samba 2.0.6-9
smbfs 2.0.1-4

Anyone has the same experience? Please give some
advice.

Thanks a lot!
-Andy
