real name disappears when using netbios alias

I have several Solaris 7 servers running Samba 2.0.6 

When I use a netbios alias for a server, the original server name

no longer appears in browse lists (of NT 4 clients), though the alias does.

It is still possible to map to the server name, it's just not browsable.

Is this supposed to happen, and if not, does anyone know how I can fix it.

Only a minor problem, but if it's fixable I'd like to know.
