Buglet: Archive Bit not always set on update

Systems: Server: Samba 2.0.6 on Solaris 7
	Client: Windows NT 4.0 sp5 on generic PC


We have Map Archive set to yes (as per default) on shares.

Observe: use notepad to update a document, the Archive bit is set (ie u+x)
	use Word 97 or Excel 97, the Archive bit is not set.


Is anyone else aware of such behaviour or even bothered by it?

Is there any config fix at Samba or Windows end?

Scan of archives yielded lots of matches (owing to archive :-() but no
obvious results.

If necessary will investigate in more detail.
