Testcase to show the bug in smbclient with tar,ls,mget

I'm posting this message in charge of Denis MARS (France), because he is not 
a subscriber of teh list and I worked with him about the same problem.

Hello,

I worked on this problem since three weeks and now i really
give up. Clearly i can't go further without your help.

I hesitate to send you this bug report as i am aware of the numerous mails 
you have. I (try to) follow your recommended procedures(faq,mailing 
list,...) but now i am in the black hole.

1/ The story begins with this use of smbclient:

sgi 18% /usr/samba/bin/smbclient \\\\kiowa\\C$ -U Administrateur
added interface ip=10.44.0.40 bcast=10.44.0.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Password:

smb: \> cd myinst

Of course the good tar is inst4.tar


2/ After i look in mailing list for "bug smbclient" on deja.com.
I see Domenico Viggiani message describing something equivalent
with mget usage:

smbclient \\machine\share
prompt
recurse
mget *


3/ Finally, I try the following:

script lsfile1
smbclient //machine/share password
recurse
ls
quit
^D

script lsfile2
smbclient //machine/share password
recurse
ls
quit
^D

diff lstfile1 lstfile2

I have different files


4/ All these test have been made under the following environnement:

Samba 2.0.6 binary distribution for SGI IRIX 6.x
installed on Origin 200 IRIX 6.5.4m 2xR12000 1G memory
The share is on an NT 4 Workstation Service pack 6 French Intel 350Mz 64K 
memory
N.B. I made NO modifications in the Registry...

5/ I try to debug and i was lucky because i have a good tar and a bad one 
with debug level 5 but i never suceed to obtain a bad tar with level 10.


6/ I think it is a problem of timing when smbclient parses the directory 
entries but i have no solution...


7/ I can provide a tgz file containing:
ltestparm:result of testparm on SGI machine
script:the original script in point 1/
linst4:the good list of the share obtained by tar tvf inst4.tar > linst4
diff-linst4_linst1
diff-linst4_linst2:diff between good tar and bad ones
tar1trunc:Truncape script of good tar debug level 5
tar2trunc:Truncape script of bad tar debug level 5

Now, I put this bottle in the sea and i hope...
