Some more information about the "Local Master Browser" election being
lost.
My smb.conf entries:
os level = 254
domain master = no
local master = yes
preferred master = no
The nmb log:
[2000/04/03 13:50:07, 0]
nmbd/nmbd_nameregister.c:register_name_response(112)
register_name_response: server at IP 144.81.30.140 rejected our name
registration of ETS<1d> with error code 6.
[2000/04/03 13:50:07, 0]
nmbd/nmbd_become_lmb.c:become_local_master_fail2(427)
become_local_master_fail2: failed to register name ETS<1d> on subnet
144.81.30.21. Failed to become a local master browser.
[2000/04/03 13:50:07, 0]
nmbd/nmbd_namelistdb.c:standard_fail_register(295)
standard_fail_register: Failed to register/refresh name ETS<1d> on
subnet 144.81.30.21
I looked up 144.81.30.140.. and it's an NT Workstation 4.0 SP4 machine
that's sitting out there. I wonder why it rejected the name
registration of ETS<1d> since I don't think it has any authority on the
matter.
Any ideas?
Thanks so much in advance!
Tom
