Performance Question...

We have 600 PCs - PIII 450 - with NT4SP4, 10BaseT Full Duplex SMC9432 NICs,
64MB.

Server is RS/6000-H50 1GB Memory and 4-way SMP. It serves 64GB of student
storage and 8GB shared programs (Read Only).

Samba 2.0.5a is configured with 4MB shared mem, TCP_NODELAY IPTOS_LOWDELAY
SO_SNDBUF=131072 SO_RCVBUF=131072.

We've moved 200 of the 600 PCs from Novell/Samba combo to all Samba shares.

Does anyone see a problem with moving the remaining 400?

At ramp-up (beginning of class switch) we moved a 37MB file from one Samba share
to another in about 65sec. Also a 5MB file from C: to a Samba share in 5sec.
