Speed problem: 3Com vs. crossover cable

First of all, a crossover cable works just fine, provided you make
it decently.

Leave full-duplex and auto-sensing on.

I had similar weirdness with a Win95b client (with DUN 1.3 installed)
and a 486-33 RH 6.0 box running samba.

Turns out that I nuked TCP/IP and reinstalled, and it is back
up to where I think it ought to be, around 300 K/sec.
