 You might want to check the cabling (especially if you made it yourself)
I had one cable that would send fine, but would drop 25% of all packets
coming the other way, which slowed transfers down a LOT. For largeer-ish
distances, it makes a difference, but for short ones, you can b0rk the
cabling and not drop packets.

I put up the "proper" way to do it (colour-coded because its easier for me
to remember it by colour :-)
