Hi all together,
all answers to my first posting didn't help to solve my
problem.
Maybe this can help you.
When I'm doing: smbclient -L MYLINUX -U MYUSER
I get the following message:
Added interface ip=195.90.254.xxx broadcast=295.90.254.255
nmask=255.255.255.0
Password: <enter password for myuser>
Domain=[MYDOMAIN] OS=[Unix] Server=[Samba 2.0.5a]
Tree connect failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password in
Tree connect or Session setup is invalid.)
And that's what in log.smb:
[1999/10/07 10:59:12, 0] smbd/uid.c:become_gid(105)
Couldn't set effective gid to 65534 currently set to (real=0,eff=0)
[1999/10/07 10:59:12, 0] smbd/uid.c:become_gid(107)
Looks like your OS doesn't like high gid values - try using a different
[1999/10/07 10:59:12, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(463)
Can't become connected user!
I'm using Samba 2.0.5a on SuSE Linux 6.0 (Kernel 2.0.36). MYLINUX
is a member of MYDOMAIN. If I'm doing smbclient -L MYWINNT -U MYUSER
I get back the list of shares on MYWINNT. MYUSER is a Linux user
and is in /etc/smbpasswd.
As far as I know gid 65534 belongs to "nobody", so MYUSER is not
envolved yet.
Thanks in advance...
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
