smbmount from fstab

Using amd-utils (Linux RH 6.0, 2.2.5-15 kernel, amd-utils, Samba 2.0.3)
I have the following in my /etc/fstab:

//KIDS/DISK /home/gerry/share smbfs
user,exec,dev,suid,rw,uid=500,gid=502,umask=0 0 0

It just works.  I'm going to try the 'username=xxxx,password=yyyy' trick
soon at the office to see if it'll fix a problem there.
