Hello,

Do you have encrypted password support enabled? If not, then you 
either...

	1) have to enable encryption on the samba server,

or

	2) have to enable plaintext passwords on the Win9x clients.

Please read the docs that come with Samba. In particular...

	ENCRYPTION.txt
	Passwords.txt
