When we rebooted our NT PDC (I was on vacation) they had the following error
message:
"A primary domain controller is already running in this domain."
I do not want any Samba boxes to act as PDC to the domain, but use either
the true NT PDC or the NT BDC for authentication. If either box cannot be
located, than just act as another NT workstation. I have included the
global section of the smb.conf file. The version of Samba is 1.9.18p10
running on Solaris 2.5.1.

[global]
        server string = SUN-TRADING-DEV AFStrade shares %v
        printing = bsd
        printcap name = /etc/printcap
        load printers = no
        guest account = guest
        domain logons = yes
        admin users = oneid twoid
        security = server
        password server = pdc1 bcd1(this is correct they misspelled bdc1)
        workgroup = SOROS
        debug level = 3
        announce as = NT
        preserve case = no
        oplocks = true
        read prediction = yes
        wins server = ntprt2 ntprt1
        dead time = 540

thanks in advance
