File Locking?

Hi,
I have a question concerning file locking.
We use a program here for the concerns of a lawyer.
The program exist in two versions. One for DOS and one for Windows 32bit.

Both version officially support Netware and Win NT as file server.
Now I tried to use samba as file server.

The problem is in the Windows Version in some parts of the program
an error message appears: Could not access Path/file.

In the DOS version running under Windows everything works fine.

So my question is: Could this be a locking problem under samba?
Or has some one an other idea?
