Macintosh?  Samba doesn't support the appletalk protocol it uses the SMB
protocol. You can use a product called DAVE for the Mac that will provide
Macs with the SMB client.  With DAVE you can get a Mac to communicate with
SAMBA quite nicely.  I used DAVE 2.0 to communicate with our SAMBA servers
without any troubles.
