SAMBA digest 2002

i got an error message on my windows 95 box (file system error (1026))when i
try to rename, save, delete (but not create, its ok) an file on the smb file
server (samba 2.0.3) running on my linux box (2.0.30) on a 486 with 8M ram.
What's wrong?
And, is there any editor on (linux/unix) that can put a CR/LF after i  press
the return key instead of just putting and LF?
