Option for Not Having root Owning all smbd Processes?

Hi all,

I have made a major upgrade from an ancient Samba to version 2.0.4b.
Previously the smbd processes were owned by the user using the process. But
now root owns all smbd processes. I guess this is a major change somewhere
in the gory details of Samba. But if not, maybe there is a way for me to
have the old behaviour back?
