Samba as PDC, when?

I just saw there is a new version of Samba, 2.5 and when looking at the
release notes I came across the paragraph at the bottom: NOTE - Primary
Domain Controller Functionality. 
I highly respect the work of the Samba team and don't want to be pushy,
but as I'm in need of this function for two different projects I wanted
to ask if anybody has an idea when to expect the PDC function to be
fully implemented? Just roughly, like in one year, or half a year, or
so?
