Problem running smbd

Hello,
Samba 2.0.0 beta4 on Solaris 2.6.
We are using NIS, Is there anything special to do, smbd can not be run
from inetd.conf
When I run /usr/local/samba/lib/smbd -D is it working
nmbd is working fine from inetd.conf
