Problems with 2.0

I just upgraded to 2.0.2 and get the following error:

[1999/02/24 16:58:17, 0] smbd/uid.c:become_gid(105)
  Couldn't set effective gid to 600 currently set to (real=0,eff=0)
[1999/02/24 16:58:17, 0] smbd/service.c:make_connection(425)
  Can't become connected user!

This happens if I use smbclient from the Linux 2.2 box (based on Red Hat 5.2)
  or from a Windows NT client.
I've seen that a few others have had this problem.  Has anyone
 figured it out?

After increasing the debug level, it looks like it validated the
 password okay, but simply failed to set the gid.
