NT connection

I am trying to map a samba enabled drive from my NT 4.0 backup server and
even after I run the cleartext patch I will not connect to my Linux box.  I
have changed the reg file with the patch program that is in my
/usr/local/samba/doc and manually and neither way will allow me to connect.
