exe format error

Hi,
	I am trying to install Samba 1.9.18p10 binary for hp-ux10x on my HP9000
 which is running hp-ux rel 10.10.  When I ran make install I received 
the following error when it tried to install the codepages:
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Invalid version for shared library: /usr/lib/libc.1
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Exec format error
I also ran testparm and and got the same error.
Can anybody help me figire this out?  I work as a GIS analyst so my sys 
admin skills are pretty lousy.
