Hi Robert,

well, i am no specialist, but as far as i can see, the Windooze Boxes store
the passwaord somewhere in the depth of the stygian abyss, aeh, registry. So
use user authentificates one time, and this is valid until he leaves the
mahcine and closes his session. It would be a very insecure thing, if the
login-procedure of some unix did the same - someone could try to crash the
shell and trace the core. And just this is our problem.
Thus, the only way i see, is either to store a file somewhere with the
password, which is in fact not good idea, because this file should be
readable by lp, or to ask the NTSysadmin to open an lpr port or a guest
account to print. For me, the latter works only for 1 printer. The nice ones
are still protected...

This is the only thing, i may contribute.

Best whishes,

Ingo
