diff. file date/time shown between smbmount and smbclient

I am using samba to connect to a WinNT 4.0 server (NT LAN Manager 4.0) and I am not getting the correct file date/time displayed when I use smbmount (actually "ls" displays the wrong date/time after performing smbmount). If I connect using smbclient all file date/time values are displayed correctly. Here are some examples: (smbclient) Wed Dec 1 15:50:00 1999 = (smbmount) Fri Jan 02 03:25:06 1920; (smbclient) Wed Dec 1 16:06:51 1999 = (smbmount) Fri Apr 12 06:40:14 1968. (I am running Linux, Red Hat v6.0 and have tried samba 2.0.3-8 and 2.0.6-19991110.) Does this problem sound familiar to anyone? The problem almost seems like smbmount is working correctly but Linux is not interpreting the mount correctly (wrong filesystem?). I believe that my Linux filesystem is ext2. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
