Bind 8.1.2 help and Samba

Hello

I have a RH 5.2 linux system running Bind 8.1.2 I have two problems

1. When I run XFree then run Netscape name lookups work.
    But I run dnslookup, nslookup they do  not work, Why and how can I
fix this??
    other linux systems on my network work ok.

2. I am also running Samba 2.0.3 everything works, except for the name
lookups under DNS/WINS
    Why this not work when the linux boxes seem to work

I have readied the docs & howto on dns and Bind
