Incorrect password, please help

Hi !!

I've set up ahomes section like that:

[homes]
   path = /some/path/%u
   public = no
   browseable = no
   writeable = yes

I try to do a NET USE i: \\server\homes%some.user password from
a Win95 OSR2 machine but I always get 'incorrect password'.

I tried with a valid unix username/password and also with a custom
C program that calls the windows API to connect to that service
without success. I also debuged samba and it seems that the Win95 
station does not send the password to samba.

Does anybody know why this does not work ?
