More information on the problem.
A couple of days ago I posted a request for help for this error msg

terre{testgb}73: smbpasswd
Old SMB password:
New SMB password:
Retype new SMB password:
/opt/samba/bin/smbpasswd: machine 127.0.0.1 rejected the session setup.
Error was : ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair in a
Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.).

This happens only for new users.
My "adduser" script adds a line in the smbpasswd with a password field
filled with 'X'.
When the new user comes to get is account he would type smbpasswd and
hit ENTER for "Old SMB password:"
This doesn't seem to work anymore. From the rrot account it is possible
to put a password though with "smbpasswd username". That works. Once
the user has a password he is able to use smbpasswd to change it from
now on.

This behavior has happened after upgrading from 1.9.18p3 to 1.9.18p4.

Thank you for your time.
