Problems Compiling Samba-1.9.18p6 on AIX 4.1.4

I am unable to compile Samba-1.9.18p6 on our IBM RS6000 running AIX
4.1.4.0.  The compiler is xlC 3.1.4.0.

The following compiler error occurs:
