samba problem...

I am getting a wierd message with samba, I am running linux:
bash# uname -a
Linux sparkbox 2.0.0 #2 Tue Jun 11 07:12:12 CDT 1996 i486
I am running the newest version of samba (samba-1.9.18p3).
The system I am on it acting as gateway for an internal network (ethernet)
and an outside network (modem with ppp).
my netstat looks like:
bash# netstat -rn
Kernel routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
198.68.22.140 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0 ppp0
192.168.1.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 459 eth0

0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 U 0 0 2507 ppp0
I compiled it with no problems and go to run it and get this in the logs:
bind failed on port 139 socket_addr=0.0.0.0 (Address already in use)
So I the following line to my smb.conf, which is one of it's IP addresses:
socket address= 198.68.22.63
and I get this in the logs:
bind failed on port 139 socket_addr=198.68.22.63 (Address already in use)
I have also tried this for the other IP address as well.
Any help would be greatly apprecated.
