User Level Security/Authentication on WinNT

Hi everyone,
I am using samba-1.9.18p7 on HPUX and we are
trying to access the shares on our
WinsowsNT.  The problem that we are
encountering is that we are trying to set up
the security on a per user password basis.
We changed the Registry file to enable plain
text password.  The problem is that everyone
has access to the root directory.  If anyone
has any answers please let me know.
