user with invalid shell

Hello there.  Got a quick question that seems kind of familiar.  May be
been discussed before.

A quick look through password.c : authorise_login() seems to indicate
that smbd does not check to see if the user's entry in the passwd file
has a valid shell.  Does smbd reject a username / password combination
if the user has an invalid shell?
