Do you know if this would increase performance on an i586 running Linux?:
FLAGS1 = -O4 -m486 -malign-jumps=2 -malign-loops=2 -malign-functions=2

The malign-stuff was stolen from my kernel Makefile.

(I dare not use pgcc/egcs yet.)

I hope that I'm not getting too off-topic.
