Since Solaris doesn't come with a compiler, it might be best to get gcc (and maybe gzip) from http://www.cnt.ru/~ftp/solaris_2.6.html They're compiled and ready to install with pkgadd, and worked great for me when compiling samba 1.9.18p3 and 1.9.18p4. Gerhard Nevenzel
