problem to mount a WIN95 share in Linux

I don't know why I have a problem to mount a WIN95 share with Linux. I have
no problems the other way. Several NT and WIN95 computers are able to map a
drive that is on the Linux computer but not the other way.
I installed Linux as a browser and all the computers show up in the
browse.dat but I am not able to use smbclient -L "computername". I get the
error message "Unknown host "name" ". At the same moment the WIN 95 computer
is connected to LINUX.
Does somebody know what I did wrong? I compiled the kernel with SMB support
(2.0.31)
